Content discovery on Nostr keeps improving, but I believe we still need to act as our own algorithms most of the time—and I actually prefer it that way. I enjoy deciding what content to engage with and where to focus my attention. If you're a creator with something you feel deserves to be seen or heard more than what it's currently getting, feel free to reach out to me. Nostr thrives because of all of us working together. 🤙🏻💜🫂

What I’ve noticed is that this protocol is pure signal. I’m used to having the mindless scroll option only, because it was mindless and easy. This is where I come to lock in and get value every time. Feels like being rewarded for time spent.

Absolutely. You have control over your attention here.

I think algorythms might be necessary for wide adoption of nostr, but the best case scenario would be like a marketplace of algorythms: there are multiple available for you to choose from, you can create and add your own for others to use, and each user can select the one they prefer.

Same thing with moderation and blocllists. Some whiny banies like mommy and daddy controlling what/who they don't get to see. So peoppe can create and use blocklists to curate their own experience without fucking with amyome else's. Ex: leftists can block all conservatives, conservatives can block all leftists, etc. Win win.

But not Mr.Beast’s algorithm

I don't even know who that is.

A few things, I think you're right in that I want to control my feed more. but I don't think that's everyone. I think an algorithm as a service market will likely emerge. I came over to expand my audience for my writing, I'm thinking of this kind of materia different than standard social media.

We have this. Primal, Amethyst, and Nostrudel all support a feed algorithm marketplace. I use it all of the time and it's fantastic!

Omg for real? HOW? Or are you sayimg the apps themselves are their own algoritjm?

Check this out. Look at all of these algos to choose from. This is just a small snippet.

Oooooo! Those are algorythms? Nice! Tha ks!

I’ve been wondering this. I’d like to post more long form writing here. Feels like I only really get interaction on GM posts. Any tips to getting other posts out there more?

You can! visit https://highlighter.com or https://habla.news or https://yakihonee.com and post your long form content there.

Thanks nostr:npub18ams6ewn5aj2n3wt2qawzglx9mr4nzksxhvrdc4gzrecw7n5tvjqctp424 and nostr:npub1l2vyh47mk2p0qlsku7hg0vn29faehy9hy34ygaclpn66ukqp3afqutajft . I was unable to login using my news with https://studio.highlighter.com/ on Brave browser, but just used the https://highlighter.com link to publish my first short essay. Still need to get the hang of cleanly sharing that essay in Primal, as now it just shows up as the url. Probably a smoother way to do this. I’ll figure it out eventually 🫡

My goal is to replace using the LinkedIn Articles/Newsletter feature.
