Rather than getting outraged at "the system" and the things it "does", try to focus more on the incentive structures that lead there. And be careful not to fall into the trap of believing there is a singular explaination for the failings of any complex and chaotic system like society.

The incentive structure you are talking about is not so hard and complex to understand, or the root of it at least. The possibility to steal from your neighbors by leveraging violence from the State while hiding behind the fact that it’s legal so it must be good in some way, is the rotten root in question.
