I suppose that would make it worse. Especially in modern building standards.
My thing is, what environment are you providing the opportunity for the fungus to grow? Factors include humidity, moisture, temperature and the building you are in. Maybe fix the crawlspace… maybe the pipe that’s leaking… maybe the grading around the home. Air filtration won’t help eliminate the source of airborne spores.
Agreed. If you suspect mold if your home, it's worth running an ERMI or HERTMSI-2 test. Mold hidden behind the drywall destroyed our health, and it's been a beast to successfully remediate. I'd love for you to share more of what you've learned.
Going through a similar experience. Had to move and get rid of most of our belongings, tainted with mycotoxins and making us sick.
Air purification is the last level of defense.
