I was not previously aware of vitamin B17 and after doing cursory research I believe calling it a vitamin is misleading. IF I were suffering aggressive metastasized cancer with a poor prognosis, I may try nearly anything for treatment up to and including assisted suicide. Chemotherapy is literally controlled poisoning where the largest resilient mass sometimes survives, usually with long term consequences for your wellness. Regarding cancer, I generally believe the following to be true:

1. Cancer cells are present in every human body in some small, usually distributed quantity.

2. The human body has a unique and very effective mechanism featuring your own immune system for finding and disposing of damaged and destructive cells and foreign bodies called autophagy. This mechanism is effectively dormant in modern humans because of constant, habitual feeding.

3. When unregulated cancerous growth is found, your oncologist will first ask you to make changes to your diet, largely to control blood glucose levels because cancer needs massive amounts of glucose to survive and grow, this need explains the aggressive angiogenesis tumors show invariably.

4. While autophagy is not an effective strategy for treating established tumors, it is an effective mechanism for prevention, and while regulating blood glucose is not a guarantee that malignant tumors will fail to form and grow, it does make growth slower and more difficult for the cancer generally.

5. For some degree of protection against various metabolic disease including, arguably, cancer, I recommend a period of fasting for at least 48 hours once a month, and one meal every 24 hours for body mass maintenance.

The compounds found in amygdalin, are found in some seeds. I think it is important to note here that most plants have evolved mechanisms to prevent consumption of their seeds, and these mechanisms are energy expensive for the plant being considered. My opinion is that this compound amounts to self proctored chemotherapy, a treatment option that is professionally recommended and managed carefully with appropriate monitoring in cases where other options have been exhausted. While I do think that careful application of plant produced medicinal compounds can be effective, isolation and concentration of even the most basic necessary compounds is patently toxic to our biology, just consider the havoc unregulated glucose can wreak on every cell in your body. Be careful my friend. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to voice my opinion. 🫂

I really appreciate your input and thank you for taking the time to give such an extensive reply 🫂

I do strongly believe in fasting, that’s why I adhere to time restricted eating myself. I’m also wanting to try a multi day fast, any tips to get started?

Green tea and broccoli sprouts also downregulate angiogenesis btw

I do a 72 hour fast the first four days of every month. I recommend a blood glucose tester, a blood ketone tester and MCT oil. I like coffee with three tablespoons of MCT as an energy booster, decaf when it’s close to bedtime. The Medium Chain Triglycerides are absorbed directly into the blood and do not initiate a glucose spike or an insulin response. They also trigger leptin, the hormone that creates satiety. If your body is not fat adapted MCT can cause diarrhea, be sure to drink plentiful water. The testers, each about $40.00 allow you to see how your blood chemistry is doing and allow you to troubleshoot if you start feeling unwell. A small amount of shakiness and muscle fatigue is normal for me, I test to make sure blood glucose levels are above 80 mg/dl, typically the testers are up to 10% +/- so this gives a margin for safety. At about 36 hours your ketone levels will rise dramatically. This is the beginning of autophagy, and the switching to free fatty acid metabolism for your body’s primary fuel rather than glucose and glycogen.

The benefit I notice the most is a mental and sensory acuteness that is unique to fasting for me, sometimes I feel like continuing because I feel so good, but it’s best not to go into keto acidosis, the process of metabolizing your own muscle tissue for fuel, not only will you lose muscle, but it is a last effort survival mechanism for your body to avoid organ failure with long term irreversible health consequences. It’s important to listen to your body, if you feel unwell it’s best to gently stop the fast. Drink 1/4 cup of fruit juice to bring blood glucose up, then half an avocado. Wait an hour and increase food consumption eating easily digestible food, keeping in mind that the capacity of your stomach will have decreased substantially. I wish you the best of experiences with prolonged fasting. I think it truly is a superpower.
