we already have lists and you can subscribe to them. unless your clients doesn't support "the NIP standard".

I see what you mean. It's been talked about many times but I think there is only a few clients who have made lists, tags and filtered words part of their onboarding process (or even optional settings) yet.
It would be nice if clients/apps would already ask the user during his account creation about the things they're interested in and things they're not interested in thus immediately customising their global feed to display content that appeals to the person (rather than penis butter, NIPs, Bitcoin and p0rn).
Just having them displayed natively in everyone's profile with the ability to subscribe/unsubscribe is enough for me π«‘
Which clients do this, particularly filtered words?
