Updated Report. The Great Twitter Migration.

They continue to show mirgration to nostr third after mastodon and post.news… still more migration to nostr than bluesky, despite the press. The whole report is worth reading.

Nostr isn't higher because most of us deleted our Twitter after moving 😂

“Previous examples of privately owned, closed-source, smaller Twitter competitors that we highlighted in past reports saw this quarter as a time of diminishing traffic.”

I just noticed that the user needs to be active to shore up here, so to the extent that we have actually left Twitter, we’re not part of that metric

Gradually, then suddenly.

This report seems very biased and charged against Twitter with some sort of personal hatred. Can we really trust anything it says?

It doesn’t show users who deleted their account. And very hard for us to get usage metrics on Nostr because we only see writes. Half of bluesky users have never posted at all. I’m guessing that although we’re only seeing 8000 daily active users posting on nostr, that the usage number is higher. Nobody knows if it is double or 10x more.

We don’t really need to know, the horse race on usage numbers matters when it comes to press but we need to actually make the protocol and apps useful. That’s the way we win.
