Yay for support but as opt-in config

nostrudel eh

Very legacy Twitter… every post was “posted via…”

;)

right, & I want to able to #untag myself at any time from individual #notes.

i'm torn on #tagging others. it does feel like you're dragging them into a conversation they may want nothing to do with.

Yes, but at the top. They break the reading flow, at the bottom.

i was thinking right aligned, bottom right

Better than bottom-left, at least.

bottom right is best, yeah

More of a debugging tool for me. I'd keep the interface clean unless a dev wants to turn it on to report issues re the client.

maybe default off and we'll add a setting for it

Anything that helps tighten the UX feedback loop!

should definitely not be used for debugging ever. anyone can fake these so think adversarialy... these are only useful to the client dev so he can advertise in everyone's content.

It’s a hint that can be used to potentially reproduce app behavior.

You are right about adversarial misuse. HMW overcome this nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s ?

Just have Will sign all our notes 🤣

Right though just a hint. Silly to spoof as another reason to get reported and lose WoT cred.

they can’t be faked, they are signed in the note.

If this is true, then client tag notedeck would be useful for nostrability

signed how? by who?

Its just a tag my guy

yes, exactly. my app can create one that says it's from Damus

sure devs could do that… i don’t see what is so bad about that as an edge case

Yes. Not sure where tho or how (text or logo?)

But another question.... Will it have polls? Lol

nay

yes, yes and yes

Unnecessary privacy leak.

i tend to agree, and with the additional downside of clients potentially using it to censor/disrupt notes from competitors.

upsides are debugging issues and for discovering new clients

I used to be yea, but I am now nay for all the same reasons. NIP 89 is much better for discovery and recommendation.

Agree.

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on how to get better interoperability if notes don't include any creator app metadata. Nostrudel let's you turn off writing this tag of course.

I just ask the person

Just ship to prob and see what people think

Nay

Since it's (usually) opt-in, why not?

It's not essential but it could be a nice way to collaboratively promote other clients.

Talking about privacy, if the tag is present it's better to show it and make its existence obvious for the user.

Yay! Great for discovery

inline with the username and time since post like nostr:npub1n0stur7q092gyverzc2wfc00e8egkrdnnqq3alhv7p072u89m5es5mk6h0

pic?

Could be a good way for others to see which clients are gaining the most traction and popularity amongst the larger community. You can use that info however you please too. Either join them or avoid them! 🤣
