should definitely not be used for debugging ever. anyone can fake these so think adversarialy... these are only useful to the client dev so he can advertise in everyone's content.

I used to be yea, but I am now nay for all the same reasons. NIP 89 is much better for discovery and recommendation.

It's not essential but it could be a nice way to collaboratively promote other clients.
Talking about privacy, if the tag is present it's better to show it and make its existence obvious for the user.

Could be a good way for others to see which clients are gaining the most traction and popularity amongst the larger community. You can use that info however you please too. Either join them or avoid them! 🤣
