Basically they tag a bunch of people and it’s chaos for days.
What client are you using?
You should be able to mute it.

...caused by a large number of people being tagged in a note. Every reply, mention and reaction in the thread causes a notification to all the people in the original note, causing chaos and confusion. Some apps handle it gracefully, others not so much.
