Lets say i only have 100,000 sats to open a channel. How would i receive a lightning transaction for over 100k sats would it fail? Sorry im a humble LN beginner
You would need to have someone open a channel to you of that amount or greater
Ok thanks. I guess lots of ppl on nostr who run their own nodes ans channels have to open chanels on the fly in order to receive zaps greater than their current ln wallet balance or zaps fail?
Typically people on Nostr either have those channels set up in advance or are using custodial services

Stupid question but would that require me to also tie sats up in the same channel? What would the benefit to me. Pls explain to me like i wear a mask alonw in my car while driving. Thx
no you wont have sats in there. the benefit to you would be you have inbound liquidity so you can receive payments on your node.
Oh that's crazy ao you could open a channel with me for lets say 100k sats. Then some other anon could send me 100k sats because i have inbound liquidity? What about your on chain tx fee to open the channel why would you want to open it it would cost you. Im a cool dude id cover the cost if we do this.
What's your minimum that people can open to your Node & any chance you're willing to also open a channel? I have two nodes so opening from one if someone opens to the other is my current experiment with those willing to.
