There have been talks of a V4V music license which completely defeats the purpose and wants to lockdown something that is meant to be set from if it's truely V4V.
If there is no v4v license what stops someone from taking my v4v contribution and claiming it as their own to seek v4v?

If we weren’t on the internet and I said I need a license to a lawyer and the lawyer didn’t ask me what I needed the license for I wouldn’t hire that lawyer

The proposal is the community V4V pays you for a generic license that we can all use to protect many different works of different kinds.

"Please attribute me if you make a derivative work" is very different from the lockdown of traditional copyright.
Maybe some artists wouldn't use it but others might. Look at the creative Commons licenses, lots of gradient between no control after release and full lockdown.
