Personally, I think it will rocket up, and sooner than 2030. It feels like a dam is breaking, and when it does, it will be seen as the true “flight to safety” asset. And I could see we shift from talking about $/BTC to sats/$. A million dollars per whole coin sounds really expensive compared to saying 100 sats per dollar.

I see you accept BTC on your website sales. Do you make a significant percentage of sales in BTC? My rancher who we buy beef from accepts BTC, but he’s told me almost nobody uses it, so any sales he makes paid in BTC, he keeps in a “savings” account on the side instead of needing to convert back to USD. He doesn’t offer a discount for BTC, which I think could really spur more payments for him if he did.
I would say maybe 1-3% of sales are paid in bitcoin. I have seen it increasing which is a good sign. Discounts for paying in Bitcoin are a great idea. Might be tough on the backend to make that work though
Yeah, I don’t run a store, so I don’t know how the backends work. I feel like I’ve seen a “pay with BTC” discount before- or maybe the BTC pay server team would know. Or maybe paying with BTC could prompt a “reward” for credit/discount on the next order? Just thinking out loud. I’ll be sure to do my next order on your site with BTC. I should have done it the last time!

So I just checked with the developer. They’re undergoing some work right now to the app but he said when you opt in to news and offers at checkout, you’ll get the rewards
Sounds good. I’ll check back on Oshi in time and see if Born To Be Free shows up. I like the concept of that app and finding merchants and events that take BTC. I just want to help build the use of the tools and sites that can help spur adoption over time. We can all look for vendors who accept BTC and support them as much as possible- even if that’s with fiat payments for now.

To follow up- I got an email today from the Oshi system that showed my rewards that came from buying through your site. So that’s working! But I launched the Oshi app and searched for “Born to be Free” and even just “Born” but you’re not showing up in the app still. Just want to make sure you’re discoverable on the BTC-enabling platforms!
