There are many mobile clients and there’s no shortage in design there. MacOS have only one optimized client currently and that’s Gossip. Other clients that run on mac haven’t been designed for that purpose. So, a design for computer screens is much appreciated

Isn’t Nostur strictly iOS?

I run it on mac but not sure if it needs ARM chip. #[2] ?

Yea it requires M1 or later to run on macOS

Sounds like a good reason to upgrade!

The performance is something else which in its own is a good reason to upgrade

This is true, even the first ones from 2020, my M1 air screen got broken recently, I checked if it was worth it to upgrade to the newer ones but ended up buying the same M1 air from 2020 again

Wish I could afford to. Maybe soon. Often it’s literally two clicks to add Intel support by switching the build to Catalyst and adding macOS as a target.

I got Damus to run on Intel Mac that way in 10 minutes.

In the meantime I’ll just keep burning my lap with that i7 MacBook Pro. 😭

Can you explain how you got it working on intel in more detail?

Yes. Give me a few to recreate the process and I’ll post screen shots.

Here ya go. Looks like they've added this to the master branch since last time I messed with this.

Runs great. I'm going to see if it works with Nostur now.

Oh I didn’t know that, I will check how to fix that

Is Nostur open source?

I like that Nostur has a post preview option. All clients should implement this, maybe even hide the post button before previewing. I’ve fat-fingered many a typo. Once I dropped my phone and posted half a message.

I will make the code available in the coming months, need to do some cleaning up first

Ok. See my replies to #[4] for how to add a catalyst target to your build. Maybe (hopefully) you won’t have to do too much to support older Macs.

If it’s not that easy, I certainly understand not wanting to support an aging architecture, but I think Intel Macs still make up a majority of them in circulation.
