And that would cometely fill the blockchain. TX fees would be $1K+ per channel opening. Much of the world doesn't even make that much in a year.

If they don't, then they'll end up using banks like WoS. And yes... WalletOfSatoshi is a bank in every negative sense. If you don't see that, then you're just turning a blind eye to pump your bags.
I'm a bitcoin maxi, but I'm not afraid to acknowledge Bitcoins shortcomings. How else could we hope to solve them?
