I suppose I do not want to abandon the idea of collective (quality) education. Quickly can become an even more stratified society if education becomes another separation between individuals rather than ties that bind us. Private sector, home schooling….fine. There’s a whole host of under educated kids, what’s that doing to our society?? If we could make positive changes to public schooling I think it would be worthwhile.

No different than health. We spend more on medical care than any other western nation but we're fat and sick. More money, isn't going to solve that problem because it's not a money problem. It's a personal accountability problem.

I can sympathize with your desired outcomes... But it's starting to feel a little commie in here. The problem isn't simple and people don't want to hear the real solutions.

There are stupid kids in rich schools. There are geniuses in crime-ridden inner city schools.

It's about pairing students that want to learn with teachers that have a passion to teach. The government doesn't do that well, nor do they want to. It's by design.

I know what you want. I can fully sympathize. Truly.

But government is not going to give that to you. Focus on your own kids and how to get them the best education. Do what you have to do.

Most are not going to make it.

Hey if we lose idealism…🤷‍♂️

Hey, I don't knock it. We should always strive towards an ideal. 🤙

As long it doesn't raise my taxes. 😂
