The thing is, I'm sure many of the people on BlueSky *don't* want political assassinations. But they're too scared to disagree because they're afraid of getting cancelled.
It's a platform for cowards. They're all going with whatever the opinions of their tribe may be, no matter how insane it sounds, because truth is not important to them. Being in the in-group is.
Their world view is fragile, and you'll see just how quickly they'll change their views when the money falls apart.

Spot on about the place
Its amazing to watch how emotionally manipulated people are from seeing stuff on the internet (all corners and platforms- nostr was probably the most level headed I'll say)
The divide between what people are willing to write online vs say to someone's face in real life is still very large. When that shrinks I'll be more concerned
One thing is to be scared to disagree (see self-censorship on LinkedIn due to business reputation) and another thing is to openly call for an assassination
Maybe it’s normal if you grow up in the US with the first and second amendments, but for me seeing this from the other side of the pond this is WILD. To the level that a civil war is a non-zero probability event
Probably having a third established political party, to learn to see things not just in one axis, would help America stop having an us vs. them approach to everything
