If we don’t think for ourselves now, soon we won’t be able too.
Exactly this. Asking permission is seeking denial.
We give to much authority to other people and organizations as if they had some monopoly on knowledge. It stems from self doubt and fear of making a wrong move.
We need to gather the courage to act confidently in our own conviction.
I'd rather say: We live in a society that doesn't want us to do anything without permission.
That is true, and some sociétés more then other, but what all collectives want, whether that’s governments, religions, or other types, is obedience.
This is difficult to combat, however every choice we make day by day to use permission-less tools is another act of defiance and a step toward a free society.

I don't respect the laws of the nation because those thieves deserve no respect, HOWEVER I will do what is needed to stay out of the cage.
I comply with the law because I think our time can be best spent out of the cage subverting the state. It’s unwise to attack head on, I’m playing the long game to deteriorate their power and influence.
