This is the sort of drone that Ukraine is successfully using to attack Russian targets, in this case a fiber optic plant in Saransk, about 1000km from the border.

Basically a cheap Cessna-like small plane, built in Ukraine, fitted with a droppable bomb. This particular plane already dropped its bomb elsewhere, and was using the airframe itself to crash into the electrical switchgear outside the facility to destroy it. (Ukraine has actually developed automated bomb dropping software for its drones)

Russian anti-aircraft defense is in a sorry state... Ukraine could absolutely win this war by destroying more economic targets in Russia like this and crashing their economy. The main issue is the psychopathic "anti-war" "peaceniks" who care more about Russian "civilians" than Ukrainians.

Stoppable bombs for drones like this are actually quite a nice innovation. That plane can carry a ~100kg bomb, so the additional damage from the plane itself is insignificant. Also, a streamlined bomb can penetrate further into a building than an entire plane, doing a lot more damage for the same amount of explosives.

Meanwhile, there's usually weaker targets nearby – like electrical switchgear – that can be usefully damaged by a Cessna-scale plane without any explosives at all.

So dropping a bomb and then crashing the drone gets twice as many attacks for about the same cost.

Let's just think for a moment who the psychpath is here...

"Psychopathic anti-war peaceniks..."

"...bombs like this are actually a nice innovation..."

You've never been within 5000 miles of a war zone, have you.

Day before yesterday I was woken up at 5am by anti-aircraft fire. šŸ˜‚

There's a children's hospital near the Airbnb I'm staying at, so I'm definitely close to a target... Same hospital in Kyiv thst Russia hit a few months ago.

(my photo from a few days ago)

I'll smile when peace is there & the boomers gone...

You should join the war. It seems to be something you strongly believe in.

He’s so fluffy soft

It's crazy how much Ukraine has stepped up the drone warfare compared to the start of the war in 2014 and that's a good thing!

The drones are a clear counter to the "us many" tactic.

The only thing that surprises me is how many weak arguments there are under this post of yours Tod.

I would have expected stronger arguments from Nostr than just "so go fight if you support it so much" or that "Ukraine should stop fighting, the war is going nowhere" etc.

Historically, Americans and our countrymen in America protested for the annexation of the Sudetenland, but even these protests, there was still a deal between the aggressor(Hitler) and the allies, about us, but WITHOUT us.

Did this policy prevent anything? No. Then why are we repeating it again.

I will summarize for the commenters here why the policy of appeasement is going nowhere. I don’t know if its worthy to waste time again, but maybe someone will read it.

The Policy of Appeasement - Why It Failed

The policy of appeasement, particularly symbolized by the 1938 Munich Agreement, aimed to avoid war by conceding to the demands of aggressive powers—most notably Adolf Hitler. Britain and France allowed Nazi Germany to annex the Sudetenland, a region of Czechoslovakia, without Czech participation or consent, hoping this would satisfy Hitler and preserve peace in Europe.

However, appeasement backfired. Instead of preventing war, it emboldened Hitler, proving to him that the West would not resist his expansion. Within months, Germany violated the agreement and occupied the rest of Czechoslovakia. A year later, Hitler invaded Poland, triggering World War II.

Key Lesson: Appeasement often encourages aggressors, making conflict more likely, not less. Standing firm and defending one’s principles—even at a cost—is often necessary to prevent larger tragedies!

you are right but your words for those who are ready to go deep. usually people quickly find analogy or pattern and thats it. from my experience many people including "bitcoin influencers" see war in Ukraine something like war in afghanistan where US gov spent billions without any result and just to feed corruption and money laundering. this especially nice pattern because it explains inflation and so on.

Now when I think back, I realize what steel balls these people must have had when it was much harder to get information at that time.

In today's globalist world, where almost everyone has access for informations, I would expect a reaction 10 times bigger to the apestmant that is happening in Ukraine, which is quite similar to what happened to us in history.

Seems like we are unteachable from our mistakes.

something wrong with current mass media system. they failed at delivering quality.

Hi peter! Have you become a Nazi filo you too? Do you have Russophobia? Would we support the Kiev Nazis? Why should we send all the Ukrainians and then all the Europeans to die for a wet dream of the globalists Biden Macron and Vonderlayen? Would you send your son to help the Ukrainians against Russia? What did the Russians do to you?

I’m a simple man. I like peace, I don’t like war.
