I don’t like the Red vs Blue really. I see no winner as both sides want bigger government. My ideal government is the smallest government. If I a gun to my head and I had to pick Biden or Trump, I would pick Trump.

I'm not American, so I don't have a horse in the race.
From my foreign understanding, the electoral college aligns better with the philosophy of a Republic better than the philosophy of a Democracy.
Without the electoral college, the popular vote would win each time, which would create an imbalance withing the Republic, where the denser populated states would have more power.
At least, that's how I understand it.
Yeah so America is not a democracy it is a republic.

America used to be a constitutional republic
But now the Congress doesn't declare the wars, things other than gold and silver are used as tender in payment of debt, not all legislative power is vested in the Congress, not all executive power is vested in the President, not all unenumerated powers are reserved to the States and to the People, etc
