I've actually been working on it at a few shops around Nashville and ear beating everyone I can-coworkers, company heads, business owners, fast food workers, convenience store clerks. I physically can not shut up about it.
What's your strategy?
Don't preach about accepting Bitcoin, preach attracting the Bitcoiner customer.
To do that they need to accept Bitcoin.
I think it's more valuable from an ecomerce perspective than brink and morter
I peach if they want to hear the message but I always cut myself off like "are you actually interested in what I'm saying?" and go from there. Right now I don't have a business so all my message is "fiat is exploitative by design, and Bitcoin is the best monetary system that's ever existed." People get uppity about it needing to be a MoE first, but until people buy, hold, appreciate, practice, etc, they'll never adopt it as a payment mechanism. Otherwise they have no idea why that's important. You have to be pretty deep in the rabbit hole to appreciate that aspect. Like all change, it will take people time to care enough to learn then care enough to understand.
Until they see customer increases by accepting it, either via them paying with Bitcoin or not, they won't realistically adopt it
I wouldn't say that's all the way true. The problems with fiat are not a secret by any measure. Feels like the biggest hurdle there is knowledge and trust. With time, both are growing. But our action certainly helps.
Most people aren't curious about that or willing to put in the time is the assumption I'm making
That's often what I tell people. "This isn't something that's broadcasted. It's what you find out if you're interested in the technology. Otherwise, don't realize what this is because we've never seen a new kind of money be born before. But ask yourself why it's 85k when it started at 3¢."
