Waldorf educational system is appealing to parents who've studied Steiner but in practice is always a challenge. I suppose it's because you need years and years of continuous theory and practice to get familiar with this way of living and educators are simply not paid well enough to embark on such a journey. So if you're not passionate to begin this path you're always going to end up with a superficial understanding of it.

There are quite a few Waldorf schools you can send your kids to,.but they are not cheap.

Yeah, around here Waldorf schools are state schools and I'm not planning to send him abroad.

We viewed our local one and it was good compared to a state school. But there are other considerations and better options imo. Home school is the best option if you can (or legally allowed) and a local school without travel is also a consideration.

I think although they spend more time outside in Waldorf schools, they still are taught like state schools, to obey authority, their place in society etc. regardless if they learn a skill like iron mongering that may be just as useless as sitting in a classroom.

I think there is also the Montessori school system as a midway option.

I've been to a Montessori school but I didn't like the lady over there. She gave me witch vibes and energy vampire so I politely declined.

I'll probably just do it myself but I want to be sure there aren't better alternative available. I'm thinking more about the social aspects, everything else I can cover easily.

I wish Socrates was available... 😂

The social aspects are a myth. You connecting with other parents and organising fun activities outside of school are the social aspects.
