What always makes me laugh when I see it in movies or on social media:

Americans just crack two eggs in a pan and call it "a meal." 😀

For example, there's a scene in a movie where a guy wakes up in the morning and his wife has made him breakfast. He walks into the kitchen, and she says, "Honey, I made you breakfast." And all you see is a fried egg. 😄

Or a guy says to his daughter, "Sweetie, are you hungry? I'll cook you something." And then he just cracks an egg in the pan and serves it to her after two minutes.

Honestly, man ... Americans. Is that what you call "cooking"? Just an egg in the pan? No tomatoes, onions, or garlic sautéed in butter, maybe some green pepper slices and some sucuk? Not even a little bit of celery or parsley sprinkled on top at the end? We call that Menemen, and it's considered a construction worker's fast food in Turkey.

Not even dried red pepper, black pepper, or at least some salt thrown in beforehand? Just an egg in the pan and then put onto a cold plate? 😂

Correct--except it's six eggs, and I don't "cook" them. 😏

Joking aside, what you described sounds delicious...

Proof of Slonk

Yes, very American. Just add the most disgusting black coffee to the eggs and you're set. 😂

Lots of Americans can cook it’s definitely a family dependent though, if your parents cook, you cook. American also has incredible diversity of palates.

American cooking that emanates from movies is a reduced boilerplate version because its fast and easy on screen.

you should've seen the cereal commercials for what is considered a full and complete meal 😆

Yes, fried eggs or cereal. These seem to be the only two American breakfast alternatives. 😀

you should hit up an American diner 🥞
