Are you adding any good soil or compost to the swales? Or hugelkulture? Thinking how to do mine….

Just planting it out with trees and putting some seed down at some point. Maybe I'll take some leaf litter and spread it out or straw. I've heard arguments against hugelswales from multiple people. Ideally, in the future I'll connect them to ponds for overflow/swivel pipe outflow
