Hello,

I have never used Tor due to everybody I know scarying me saying that my IP can be shared with someone commiting crimes online and it can be interpreted by ignorant law enforcement or judges that I was the crime perpretrator while it was someone else using my IP on Tor, and then it falls on my to try to prove that I was not the one commiting the crimes which might be difficult and also the stigma that I would be subjected to in my social circles due to being wrongly prosecuted for some crime I did not commit but was commited by someone else using my IP address in Tor. Can the community please comment if this is a possibility or why not? Thank you.

If you're not living in a country where law can be bent unconditionally, then that's not how law works. They have to prove you did something. Not you have to prove you didn't.

Also it's really hard to find out who you are of your not do doxxing yourself. Like logging into some service which is already connected to your name and address for example.

I'm using Tor daily since years and nothing has ever happened to me.

It sounds like you are talking about running a Tor Exit node.

Leave that to experts with financial and legal backing.

Using Tor or Tor browser is safe.

You may end up using the same Exit node as someone doing something nefarious but that would be up to law enforcement to prove, like they would for shared VPN users.

Verify your installation packages as always.

Hope that helps, ask more questions if you need more information.
