Iāve mulled over this too, especially after my fishing yacht cruise in Dubai. Let me spill: when the charter company (https://www.yachtdxb.com/yacht-packages/fishing-yacht-charter-dubai-cruise-catch/ ) added those ātreat the crew to a drinkā style tip prompts, it felt way less weird to tip. Instead of holding back, everyone pitched in happily, kinda like how knowing the best spots to fish in Dubai made us reel in more catches. Clear cues just work, huh?
I wonder what the social economics are of setting a minimum zap amount.
would this result in more or less total zaps received over time?
Would people be more generous in the presence of actual prices instead of tip-anything.
lots of experiments to be done š¤
I talked about this a long time ago, but maybe there should be a spec for recommended tip amounts: like ābuy me a coffeeā, etc. configurable by the user. Then clients could render tip/gift buttons for these.
I think i remember nostr:npub180cvv07tjdrrgpa0j7j7tmnyl2yr6yr7l8j4s3evf6u64th6gkwsyjh6w6 complaining about the lack of prices when tipping a long time ago.
