It’s amazing when plebs have their minds blown when they realize that you can open a channel in ZEUS to basically any node on the network. 🤯

Shouts to all the wallets that aren’t creating more of the same old walled gardens and let users enjoy the full benefits of an open payments network.

Shout out Blixt, Mutiny, OBW, and BitBanana.

Seems OBW is kinda over

Question: do you think it would be beneficial to use “Easy Mode Zeus” and open a channel with my own home node, instead of using Zeus as a remote access point to my entire node?

Yes. It would give you security benefits to not expose your whole Lightning stash to your phone.

Check out our docs on how to do so: https://docs.zeusln.app/category/embedded-node

Thanks for the info. I use lightning terminal to set some spending limits and prevent other actions from occurring on mobile, but the node to node channel approach is starting to seem like it would make more sense.

If you have the technical chops you may even want to do a trusted funding channel. You will save on onchain fees too.

It is an advanced set up though. Not recommended unless you can get your hands dirty

Oh, I’m down to get them dirty 🫡🤣 doing small projects like this are the highlight of my week. Nothing more fun than tinkering with lightning.

I’ll give it a try!

You've built something incredible. How about a review on the fee structure for micropayments?

It’s going to evolve over time but the challenge is ensuring that we earn enough in sats on the payment to route the payment to you.

Maybe the fees get lower at the low end but then you’d almost certainly have to use ZEUS PAY in conjunction with an inbound OLYMPUS channel

I will use ZEUS PAY and Olympus for other purposes for sure but not for Nostr yet. The daily zap volume is not negligible, micro fee for micropayments x volume could be an interesting segment, work on a one-tap zap option to facilitate growth. Worth a study i presume.

Or else well done Nostriches 🤙🏻

ACINQ was the first wallet to support LND node. But think there are some slight differences between Zueus and theirs... Just can't place my finger on it yet.
