When I was little, I wanted a big expensive house.

When I was a teen, I wanted a big expensive house and nice cars.

When I was in my early 20's, I wanted a big expensive house and nice cars, and at least a million dollars in the bank.

In my mid 20's, I realized this was nice but it was basically a trap for most people.

It's great to have goals and work to achieve them. If you can comfortably afford it, enjoy!

The problem is we live in a consumption society, heavily influenced by what we see others flaunt.

This causes people to live beyond their means and never get off the hamster-wheel of living paycheck-to-paycheck and rolling over debt to higher and higher levels.

The goal since my mid-20's is to live a fulfilling life. To live within my means. To not lose sleep due to bills. To be able to take the time I need for the things I want.
