So I’m trying to just test my cold card to make sure I have everything set properly. I followed all the proper steps - I went to sparrow, created a transaction, saved it to microSD, put microSD in coldcard, sign the transaction, put it back in my laptop, uploaded the signature and clicked broadcast. Now my screen has been here for at least 5 minutes. Is this a normal thing or did I do something wrong?

Happens sometimes. Restart the app (might have to restart the pc) and do it again.

Just restarted it and now that transaction isn’t showing anywhere. Will it just be thrown out now and not broadcast since it technically never was? Or is it still trying to broadcast somewhere in the background?

Probably it was dropped, for you to check you would need the transaction id.. start again..

No it will never broadcast. Just forget this one and do everything again.

I couldn't explain you why and what's really happening tho. It just happened multiple times to me.

Think I figured it out, looks like it’s having trouble connecting to one of the public servers (and yes i know public servers aren’t the best thing to use). I think my works firewall is blocking them cause I get a socket closed error when testing the connection.

Thanks for your help!

1. Did you set your fee high enough to get accepted into the mempool?

2. Does it show a pending transaction back on your wallets page in sparrow?

3. A good practice is to grab the pub key from your cold card and create a watch-only wallet somewhere that you can monitor the cold wallet and see if tx’s went through..

1. Yes

2. No

3. I have one

Now realizing it may not have been connected to a server, bottom of the screen still says connecting.

Fuck yeah then it was def just a network connection issue. Problem solved! 🤝

Do you have Tor enabled? Assuming this is still true when broadcasting transactions with Tor enabled, it could be a problem with Tor.
