I would not label it as personality disorder.

People learn differently. There is nothing wrong figuring it out on your own first. If you have unlimited time then iterate as often as you want. But if you have finite time then balancing when to ask for guidance vs doing it on your own is something you have to experience in time. I'd ask, what is the pay-off asking others? Is it time or cost effective? Either way you are right. 👌☺️
