The design of this platform is currently sided the other way, its going to be extremely hard to censor this platform. On the other side, its also hard to keep bots out as there is no central authority. Some use paid relays for example that have built in filters, others like me want to see everything and then decide to just block things they don't wanna see on the client.

One massive tip though, there is a reason you don't have a global timeline on other platforms its going to be a massive spamfest. So if you want to discover things try the DVM's such as primals popular list, hashtags, that kinda thing. Follow people that people you follow follow, etc.

Might be new starter enthusiasm, buts it’s already been a significantly more pleasant experience than Twitter has been for some years now.

For me its been a million times better than Mastodon which brigaded me off the platform for merely advocating for the freedom to follow people from a banned instance the admin didnt like in your own timeline. Creates a culture of hate if that is effective, and bluesky turned very much the same way from what I heard. Here people who can't tolerate other opinions usually don't want to join as they'd be forced to see them. As a result everyone has been super chill. I think the concept that others can send you money helps to, if people are being assholes nobody wants to interact and that isn't as rewarding as being friendly.
