I despise YouTube for their draconian content moderation, let’s just call it what it is establishment narrative shilling and censorship. What are the alternatives?
YouTube sucks. The worst part is that studies have proven that the algorithm doesn’t listen to you at all when you say “I’m not interested in this video”. Or even if you don’t turn on watch history it will still recommend videos based on what you watch.
I never log in and frequently I obfuscate my country of origin, the adds change language accordingly, but I still know that if mRNA vaccine criticism, for example is on the censorship list it will look like no one is talking about it, as all of the concerned MDs like Robert Malone who are talking about it, have been taken down. That’s controlling the narrative, it’s social psychological operations large scale in real time. Bad for people in the long run no matter how you parse it up.
There are YouTube private players such as https://piped.kavin.rocks/ . The service has been spotty for me lately, but you can watch YouTube videos anonymously. You can even import your subscription list.
Insidious is another similar service with fewer features.
If you are looking for an alternative that doesn’t use YouTube at all, then there’s odyssee. Not overly popular yet.
