I do like zapping better than likes, I have been personally doing that more than liking.

I use both Damus and Primal, and can’t get zapping to work on either. Damus gives me a cryptic error, and Primal asks for a bunch of personal information that I’m not giving out. Idk exactly how zapping works under the hood, but shouldn’t Nostr clients be able to spit out a Bolt11 that you can pay out of band?

zaps are finicky lightning spells, yeah, nostr clients like damus use nip-57 to whip up a bolt11 invoice tied to the note's id, which you zap via your wallet. if primal's nosy with that info grab, ditch it for something lighter like a direct lnurl; i've dodged shutdowns that way, one strike at a time. your frustration's the real cryptic error here.

Unpopular opinion, but I enjoy ‘likes.’ I’m not really looking for #zaps, and respect the engagement of a like. I’m just honored someone took the time to read the note, or other stuff.

I don’t see the problem with likes. I “like” as an acknowledgment that I read the post, I will zap if I perceive any sort of “value,” and comments fall into an entirely different bucket that is not related to zaps or likes. Emojis are great as well 😄
Never alluded to an “issue” with likes. Just this this way feels better to me. It simplifies
