Does anyone know if there's a simple #Nostr client that's simple and doesn't have zaps? I'm trying to find something simple to use while I stack up some Bitcoins and Monero that doesn't kill my battery. #asknostr

What Mastodon instance are you on, I want to join and explore the fediverse and see if we can grow our merry little band. 👀

I finally finished building LineageOS on my Pixel 4a 5g and completely removing everything Google. It feels nice to give life on older hardware. All I need now is just to finish add a few apps to it.

I got an old but good one here. 🫡

#Monerofrens is XMRIG on android still good to mine #Monero I am trying to test a few things out in mining to see if I can repurpose old android phones.

I don't use Nostr DMs since I don't get notifications. You can add my XMPP.

If you need XMR, you can trade me some SATs without needing to do a swap on a exchange.

Welcome to NOSTR friend! (I'm late and for some reason your note popped up for me. 😅) Are you into gaming and if so, what would be your top 3 games?

Want to be P2P partners? 👀 I can help hook you up with some XMR once I get my mining set up rolling. I have XMPP and I use Keet as well. 🫡

I don't need fiat haha, I use solar so I don't have much costs to worry about. I'm trying to get more XMR without needing to do swaps often.

#Monerofrens is there a good way to find a index for good CPUs to mine Monero with? I'm trying to build a new server rack to mine and I want to compare chips to see what I am going to use. Also is it worth solo mining on #Monero to help further decentralize the network?

I haven't really looked into Drive-chains honestly. I've heard of them but never really went deep into them.

I will probably add them to my read list soon though.

nostr:npub1v5ufyh4lkeslgxxcclg8f0hzazhaw7rsrhvfquxzm2fk64c72hps45n0v5 is there a way I can pay for premium using my sats?

I'm currently on mobile and it doesn't let me sign up for premium so I can support the development and maintenance of Fountain.

Thanks Kitty! We could also recommend peeps to use pseudonyms as well. I don't use my actual name anywhere now and give them random aliases.

I on ly use it to run mini scr ipts for some of my wallets. Specifi cally the time lo cked ones, along with some Lightning stuff.

Honestly the more and more I read into Monero the more I want to build into it. I love Bitcoin and everything's that's been built so far. But there's not enough people focusing on the big important stuff like privacy, and supply being sunk into ETFs/ETNs and "treasury companies" along with people only focusing on NGU.

Lightning is good once you understand it and build upon it. But it is slowly becoming the opposite of what it was meant to do. Over time if people only use LN it makes the main layer less protected by there being less fees for the miners working towards a block and the subsidies running out over time.

Don't get me wrong, I still believe in Bitcoin. But there's a lot of work to do. The best middle ground I found for to support both LN and the main layer is to use submarine swaps on LN/BTC to support both miners and the lightning network.

Honestly the best way I deal with doom scrolling on my phone is to buy small data plans and live more in the moment because of the data caps.

Oh its okay if its low. I am trying to learn how to mine with something small before I try to move to a more specialized set up.

Honestly nostr:npub1yzvxlwp7wawed5vgefwfmugvumtp8c8t0etk3g8sky4n0ndvyxesnxrf8q has become my go to for Nostr and my LN wallet for everyday payments. It makes things simple, using data only and using Keet as my messenger and calling has changed the game too. I don't use my phone for anything else, desktops are good for those who mainly stay at home or don't need as much hardware.

But if you were to help someone move to using desktop only, what would you recommend them?

Hey can someone share their experience with nostr:npub1qmw7jhczdr8yqy5t7u72d6z4v7u9va5gaff0ynwd2u6wwlzs7tvs694er8 I want to ditch Bitrefill and try them out. But I don't want to lose sats on this. #asknostr #Bitcoin

That's good! Hopefully these new models don't suck so bad that they sky rocket the prices of the older models.

What dot and trigger are you leaning towards. I'm stuck with either going for a new red dot from holosun or keeping my old one.

I get that 100%, that's why I take my time on my mods. I've had a bad issue before with my old gen 3 when I wanted to mod it to oblivion. 😂

Honestly my builds good so far, I just need to find a light and to get a better trigger tbh. So far its as bare bones as a pistol can get. I'm thinking of building one similar to a Roland special for simplicity. My competition days are over and I just need something practical and reliable.

Currently I am working on building my .300blk PDW and I just need ideas on whether I should run a folding brace or keep it fixed. I am going to swap the brace to something more traditional. (Optic is being borrowed for now to check if AAC runs well) #Gunstr #Gunostr

Amazing! Let me learn more about simpleX so it can be a more streamlined way to communicate.

Here is a good quote from nostr:nprofile1qqs9pk20ctv9srrg9vr354p03v0rrgsqkpggh2u45va77zz4mu5p6ccpzemhxue69uhk2er9dchxummnw3ezumrpdejz7qgkwaehxw309a5xjum59ehx7um5wghxcctwvshsfmrzrk which is a reminder that people can still win even without filters because of the free market and proof of work.

"I remember when bitcoiners knew that free market + proof of work could defend us from nation-state attacks.

Now they're afraid of competing with JPGs and don't want to pay fees to maintain the biggest monetary revolution in history.

Good times make weak men. Bad times ahead." - nostr:nprofile1qqs9pk20ctv9srrg9vr354p03v0rrgsqkpggh2u45va77zz4mu5p6ccpzemhxue69uhk2er9dchxummnw3ezumrpdejz7qgkwaehxw309a5xjum59ehx7um5wghxcctwvshsfmrzrk

Basically Core is removing options for Mempool management and increasing the OP_Return size limit. Knots is an alternative fork of core with the ability of Mempool management and the ability to adjust OP_Return to zero.

People behind knots are making this situation look way worse than it seems. (We have bigger fish to fry.) and saying that CSAM is going to be on every node. Even though ways to put the arb data on the chain has been possible even before this whole debacle. Simply because Luke and Mechanic are making alarms of issues that aren't there or highly improbable. Knots is wanting to go the route of censorship with making certain transactions invalid. Also claiming Bitcoin is going to die if we don't run Luke's fork.

While some people in Core are being stupid and way to naive in how to handle these things. Even some Core devs sucking on the dick of big shitcoins trying to use Bitcoin for their own gain. A few of them are on a high horse saying that only those who know how to code should have an opinion. While also making it fair game for Shitcoiners to try to ruin Bitcoin for their pump and dump. (Cough) Citrea (Cough)

Also Knots is a fork of core mainly maintained by just Luke, all the heavy lifting is being done by Core. I wouldn't recommend migrating to Knots due to Luke's OPSEC history. But if you are building a fresh node then run Knots if you want to have more tools under your belt. I also would say that Core needs to stop fucking with user options on how they want to run their nodes. Theyre just there to fix patches and help fine tune things that people want, not for them to decide what's good for Bitcoin.

My two sats is to keep running an older version of Core and wait for the dust to settle on this. But if you really want to be active in this run Knots to manage your Mempool the way you want to. Me I am happy with my version of Core I am using.

Well that's good, I wish nothing but the best for yall. I've only been to West Virginia once and it was beautiful. I do want to plan moving to a place like it in Appalachia.

Hmm I would recommend dried fruit slices, they taste pretty good and are easy to make with a smoker or air fryer. You can also prep them in zip lock bags ahead of time to for a quick grab and go. I'll find my old recipe book and share with you what I have.

I mean if you can help me find a way to make my PFP look like yours or find a similar one. I can zap you some sats for it. 👀

It doesn't show any error messages. It just doesn't apply the picture to the contact.

Honestly capitalism is the best monetary system that we have. It is just people got lazy and aren't fighting against corpos that bend them over and are afraid to unionize because of a weaker currency. Also more government regulations doesn't make things better they just become shit compared to private solutions.

I mean coffee ☕ is always a banger. I don't mind shooting someone some Java lol.
