A man running Bitaxes producing 120-130 TH/s solo mined block 920,440 and received 6.141 bitcoin as a reward.

He used open-source mining hardware, ran his own node, and connected to an open-source mining pool instance he self hosted.

This is the way.

Im running my own node and OCEAN’s Datum. It works fine and has been stable. However, I’m mining with a single Bitaxe Supra and getting around 1 TH/sec performance.

I suppose the other ~3 btc were from fees.

Is this easy to set up? I literally know zero about mining or setting up a miner.

It’s very easy to set up. But one bitaxe only gets like 2 TH/s

So to get 120 TH/s

You would been like 60 of them lol

At 100 bucks a pop

You would need* * like between 60 and 100 of them.

So if you were to try to get that much hashrate with bitaxe only it would cost almost 10 grand to set up.

Better off getting like the avolon Q

I think for maybe like 1-2 grand you can get close to 100 TH/s

The cool thing about bitaxe is that it’s open source and you can build them yourself….

Technically, by tax code, mining a block is income and would be taxed as such. Not saying he should have done it, but that’s what it is
