Will I haven't had a willd mushroom in 30 years, that one looks amazing thought

U need to get out there and hunt for mushies dan wedge

Oh I have like 4 kinds on the mushrooms in my paths, as they are wood chips. I just don't know which ones are good & which ones are not

Any mushroom thoughts?

Nothing I recognize

Can’t help! Will be watching

Def not psilocybe cubensis. That has a ring around the stem.

Just looking to not die as my main goal. no want to cure my psychosis yet

Looks like it could be in the amanita family. All expert level proceed with don't touch it

I think your right on the first one there slev thanks

Amanita Muscaria is a pretty neat medicinal mushroom if you learn how to prep it right.

Not all amanita's are alike and it can get tricky ID'ing some.

The magic mushroom from mario bros is the red amanita. Which is also arguably part of how Santa became folk lore

Could be Pluteus cervinus. Look that up and see if it has matching characteristics.

What region do you live in?

I am South Detroit, Carolinian forest

Oh cool my wife is from Shelby Township, I’m from Lansing. Live in Colorado now.

Strange world I moved from the Canadian Rockies to be here. Do you miss Detroit style pizza or Vernors?

Lol. Man I can’t stand the weather that at all. I go visit my family in Grand Haven and Traverse City every summer though. I’d live there in the summer only if I could.

Taking a road trip over there in July

I think you got me on to the right path:

Not to my knowledge! How did you cook them?

If you don’t actually want them to be peppery, pickling might help. That’s what they do with the spicy Russulas in Russia and those are related to the milky mushrooms.

I didn’t eat this one. I’m going to go look for some more this morning. I did see that’s what they’ve done in Russia, might try that - thanks!

I have only ever eaten one type of milk cap I find in western Carolina. Dry grilled then oil and vinegar.

Let us know how if it goes!

Yeah I’ve had those. These grow all over too though, super spicy

Funny you should ask - last week at the dockside market, this fisherman turned mushroom vendor had his stall right next to the ‘boat for sale’ signs. Pulled out these milk caps from his cooler like contraband: ‘Try these, they’ll outheat your jalapeños!’ Cue three hours of tongue numbness... 🌶️ (Turns out he used to collect exotic fungi during his merchant sailing days)
