Thankfully our power just came back on. A friendly reminder to have plenty of lanterns on hand for emergencies. We used ours alot these last few hours. Even though the outage was during the day, its cloudy, dark, and rainy today, so parts of the house were dark.

Also, I put a big pot of water on top of the woodstove and added some cinnamon sticks and cloves, which gives the whole house a wonderful aroma. Not an emergency kind of thing, but it made the house feel cozy. And this could also be used to heat up water if needed. In fact we heated water this way during an extended outage a couple years ago. Just some post-outage thoughts. #grownostr #homesteading

We have those LED lanterns that Jack recommends. Used several times, last a long time.
