it's just a question - how much do you think you should pay monthly, to eventually "own" a house, without putting any initial money towards it?
How much of it should go to interest vs paying off the principal is the sticking point for me.

Yes, that is a revelation many people never even go through. You'll basically be paying interest for the first 10-15 years.
Difference between a 2.5% rate and a 7.5% rate is about an extra $1400 or so on your monthly payment. I don't work to make the damn bankers rich.
