Thank you. I cannot imagine my life without my relationship to God. Yet, I was brought up by some rabid fundamentalists who drove their beliefs into the hearts and minds of others like nails through the hands and feet of Christ. It is repellent and counterproductive to the βworkβ of The Lord. For instance, my 12 yro brother was forbidden to play or have Dungeons and Dragons game pieces, etc in our house because it was βof the devilβ. My BFF, who was Catholic, was told she was a participant of a pagan religion, and so on, ad infinitum. God gave us free will for crissakes. nostr:note1gntkhddrggyhtfvch2vf3029qwxnazzaj2wkes3hu2an62tjszdsxssqv0

This sort of thing breaks my heart.
Yes. It is disheartening. It did not turn me away from Christ, or my brother either, thankfully. I was 8 yro when I was saved, and remember the moment I recognized I had a soul as if it were yesterday. I am so thankful that my parents brought the possibility into my young world. I am saddened that their own radical positions very likely undermined their very ministry.

And this is the brotherhood of man, some choose to call it Christian, etc. Bless you for recognizing and demonstrating how it truly works, religion is one thing, but faith is entirely different. My God sees into the hearts of those who follow and those who do not, signifying love for both. Self-righteousness is odious in one and all.
