I tend to take the opposite approach. I learn as much as I can from others to avoid resolving problems that have already been solved. The frustration for me comes from wasting my time and mental energy. So my personality issue tends to be that I struggle dealing with things I view as a waste of time. It is important to sometimes try to solve problems that have already been solved. For example, completing math homework to learn the fundamentals of math. It's contextual for me. I'm cool if that's known before going on in. If someone just wants to withhold information to feel superior (I've seen this in the workplace), I get annoyed fast. I don't want to waste time in that context. Just give me the information.

I get that. Would make life easier to do it that way

But, my mind goes to learning the hard way

My life has mostly been a fight with myself. My mind goes pretty much the wrong way at every turn if left unattended 😂 But it's only a problem if you don't like the results. I don't know why, but I developed this tendency early on. An interesting topic to think about.
