I haven’t read this so it’s a dicey recommendation. But if he is a libertarian he may appreciate “The Denationalisation of Money” by Friedrich Hayek (1976). He theorized a denationalized private money. The other Bitcoin specific resources you may also provide him would then argue that Bitcoin is that “private money” that Hayek was advocating.
