Unpopular question: Why are olympic gold medals called gold medals if they are mostly made of silver? 🤔

Gold medals are made of at least 92.5% silver, and about 6 grams of gold.

Because it's a fiat system liturgy, fraud is its oxygen.

I'm surprised the silver content is that high to be honest. Medals are tokens. There's no reason a token should have any monetary value.
