Most people who loudly say they want free speech really just want to be hateful in public without repercussions.

I support free speech as a necessary tool against oppression.

These bigots hurt my cause not help it. They are the perfect justification for the authoritarians to grab power over speech. They mean that every time I try to support free speech I end up spending the entire time just proving that I'm arguing in good faith.

To the bigots claiming free speech as cover, you may have fooled the authoritarians into thinking we are on the same side. I know you are just the second front in a two front war.

Many of the bigots are actually just contrarians. If a word is taboo they want to say it even more. Policing language makes this even worse.

freedom without sense of responsibility to the consequences is imo, just wayward thinking, not free-thinking

That's the key, Bill--bigots are most usually in favor of authoritarianism since their benighted caste system calls for a top-down apparatus to impose their beliefs on everyone. Freedom tools give everyone the ability to build roads around such regimes. At this point, bigots just make me laugh because they will eat shit
