I’ll clarify some points here

1) I know many people, nonprofits, and journalists in El Salvador who are actually fleeing because of threats from the government. So this whole “come and see” response, I know many Salvadorans who are painfully leaving the country they love.

2) I gave Bukele the benefit of the doubt at first. Massive civil unrest, foreign involvement in their politics and government for decades, crime and gangs out of control. I didn’t agree with the tactics of rounding up any perceived gang member to clean up the streets — but I know many Salvadorans who were desperate from some relief from gangs (although Bukele is a hypocrite and makes deals with certain gang members, I digress)

3) what crossed a new line for me was when Bukele started trying to be a Fox News/Neo-Right darling here in the U.S. and when he cut a deal with the Trump admin to house immigrants ICE was arresting without due process, and then literally torturing many times INNOCENT PEOPLE from other nations…as a U.S. citizens knowing my tax dollars have contributed to that is disgusting.

4) Bitcoiners that are simps for his regime have been attacking other Bitcoiners who speak out against this. They want strong man kings and authoritarians, and the Bitcoin strategy has not been effective — and we still can’t get clarity on the IMF arrangement because it’s all a marketing strategy from Bukeles authoritian regime to pretend they’re standing up to IMF.

It really seems like a significant number of people in the bitcoin space (on Nostr at least) are fascists 🤷‍♂️

Should've expected much from a space that harbors fuccos like Stefan Molyneux and Peter Todd

Another funny thing about this is that Antifa is a political stance, not an actual group. That didn't stop "Antifa" from becoming a scapegoat for reactionaries, though

Protesting, boycotting, and donating. All better than apathy. I'm not positivist enough to think that words are powerless, so even posting about it on the internet is better than nothing

Honestly, after I saw the outpouring of sympathy for Charlie Kirk in the bitcoin space...I can't blame them for that

I'll talk less shit when the Global ₿itcoin Flotilla launches 😏

I'm tired, too. The apathy is suffocating. People still haven't figured out that apathy is compliance, and genocide is zero-sum. People are either letting it happen or resisting

Wait until everyone who donated to Stefan Molyneux gets doxxed lol

Like I needed another reason, but AI hasbara? Nothing is beyond the pale for those fuckers

Forreal 😂

Almost want to flip my whole stack for XMR tbh

Also, Israel isn't the tail wagging the dog. They wouldn't have been able to bomb Gaza for 23 months without foreign aid from several countries, mainly from the US. The United States also bought out the neighbors of Palestine, maintaining a level of regional security that allows the settler colonial enterprise of Israel to exist untrammeled

People who are admittedly more well-read than me tend to focus on political means of emancipation. However, I think they have a huge blind spot when it comes to technological means, especially the ability to provide humanitarian lifelines and building coalitions that are rug-proof against ruling classes. I'd like to see 10,000 Rojavas bloom, and freedom tech can play a role in getting there.

Also, all of my favorite Marxists are anarchists and libertarian socialists, I think that authoritarian Marxism (Trotsky, Lenin, Mao, etc.) are all traps

A lot of leftists actually like freedom tech like Bitcoin, they just get silenced by the Hoppean reactionaries in this space

whoever is correct here, as brusque as they may be. Lightning is 2-of-2 multisig joint custody with a channel operator as the **counterparty** regardless of one's setup. I prefer the security model for on-chain and avoid large amounts in lightning
