Bukele worship is gross. Clearly an authoritarian that runs torture camps in El Salvador.

It’s ok to just say the truth, and that you’d rather get a photo with the president and turn a blind eye to these massive human rights issues. I just wouldn’t say we’re on the same team.

Did ever post on social media about prior presidents of El Salvador before Bukele, when it was a socialist shithole overrun by murderous gangs?

*Did you ever

Everyone so concerned about Satan worshipping gang bangers who terrorized an entire country with impunity. Should he have asked them nicely to stop the human sacrifice? It isn't worship to recognize a strong man doing what is necessary to protect the citizens. We could use a whole lot more of this in the USA.

Yep, heard Max and Stacy sing his praises on a recent Pubkey event.... Pretty gross.

Of course it's never about CECOT, always the Bitcoin stuff. I guess "freedom money" = "gulag money"?

Authoritarians always earn two kinds of followers:

1) the ones blinded by results,

2) the ones too desperate for order to question the cost

power ...

power wrapped in efficiency is still power,

( it always demands a price❗️).

Maybe, admiration without scrutiny isn’t loyalty, it’s surrender..

That's not the truth. The truth is that the human rights of all people are finally respected because criminals are in jail and millions of people can have a life.

The idea that human rights are for, and only for, criminals is over. Good people have rights too.

Good people can't think for themselves? So the ultimate leader your God bukele he knows best and they should obey or they will be branded as criminals and not good people?

Bukele is not my god. You and other idiots like you who love murderers and prefer them over innocent people are the ones who serve some dark god.

What if your country's activitists are funded by foreign entities? Or foreign states. Does your country not have the right to protect itself? Looking only from a civil rights lens shows your statement needs a broader aperture.

Personally, I'd rather a the State use targeted spyware than the mass surveillance.

yooo bet you ve never visited this beautiful country and spoke with salvadorians about bukele. 4 out of 5 love their president. come visit and i show you around to give you the full picture

I’ll clarify some points here

1) I know many people, nonprofits, and journalists in El Salvador who are actually fleeing because of threats from the government. So this whole “come and see” response, I know many Salvadorans who are painfully leaving the country they love.

2) I gave Bukele the benefit of the doubt at first. Massive civil unrest, foreign involvement in their politics and government for decades, crime and gangs out of control. I didn’t agree with the tactics of rounding up any perceived gang member to clean up the streets — but I know many Salvadorans who were desperate from some relief from gangs (although Bukele is a hypocrite and makes deals with certain gang members, I digress)

3) what crossed a new line for me was when Bukele started trying to be a Fox News/Neo-Right darling here in the U.S. and when he cut a deal with the Trump admin to house immigrants ICE was arresting without due process, and then literally torturing many times INNOCENT PEOPLE from other nations…as a U.S. citizens knowing my tax dollars have contributed to that is disgusting.

4) Bitcoiners that are simps for his regime have been attacking other Bitcoiners who speak out against this. They want strong man kings and authoritarians, and the Bitcoin strategy has not been effective — and we still can’t get clarity on the IMF arrangement because it’s all a marketing strategy from Bukeles authoritian regime to pretend they’re standing up to IMF.

I've come to the conclusion that many people do not deserve human rights.

define "massive human rights issues"

Difficult situations often require difficult choices. The pendulum swings both ways, and until it finds center: “Mercy to the guilty is cruelty to the innocent” - xoink
