Not certain but it looks like a bitter bolete. Tylopilus felleus.

Bitter bolete has black reticulation whereas this one has white. Reticulation referring to the web/net pattern on the stem. White reticulation is good. I can only speak for mushrooms found in the UK but as long as this doesn't bruise red or blue then it seems a promising edible.

Is it a king? It looks different than the kings I find around here but there is a lot of variance in size and shape. Boletes edulis has white reticulation.

Looking up the bitter bolete it seems to develop a pink sponge gills when older. Have you taken a nibble? I am curious.
