This wouldn’t happen in Canada because there isn’t a border problem. I went across the border several times over the weekend and have never heard of these issues.

It is laughable to suggest this is of any great concern to America that would warrant a 25% tariff.

I’m sure there are border challenges both ways, but I can’t imagine sending Canadian troops to protect the border.

I'm not sure Trump wants anything specific from Canada. He mentioned Fentanyl, the lack of US banks in Canada, and a trade deficit, none of which justify these tariffs. I think he's just flexing to show Canada who's boss from the outset. When they come to heel, Trump will cut them some slack.

Make sense. I didn't know enough about border issues to say anything but it dosen't seem much believable to me too. I'm also not sure this to hurt canada as much as it is to hurt *Liberals*.

His real goal is to bring back manufacting jobs.

If that's his real goal, he's looking to impoverish the US.
