Struggling SO hard getting a node up and running using UmbrelOS. If i change the volumes yaml to point to my 2tb ssd drive it fails and there isn't enough space on the 1tb internal ssd to use. Why isn't there an easy way to change where the app stores the blockchain data? Can anyone point me in the direction of getting some guidance? Could care less if it's corr or knots, at this point just want to get it up. WTF, I thought this was supposed to be user friendly. FML. I've been working on it for 2 weeks.

When something goes wrong it's even more of a headache, at .east in my past experience.
Try Start9.
couldn't even find decent info on how to use start9 on my own machine without purchasing theirs.

It's pretty standard as far as Linux based installs go. Admittedly I opted for TrueNAS instead.
Ive done this, flashed a thumb drive and installed on an old laptop. It didnt have the specs required to do everything but I wanted to see if Id like it. I did, a lot. So i bought one of their machines.
ok, looks like I finally got it running.
Turns out it was a simple line I needed to add to the yaml volumes:
- /home/umbrel/umbrel/app-data/bitcoin/data/app:/data/app. (I added this line and it made it work)
Thanks for listening. Once it syncs I plan on migrating to knots, but this is fantastic!
Fun times, at least I'm learning something along the way, too.
Bitcoin kicks ass! (as we all know here, 😂)
Is /data your mount point for your second drive?
This looks specific for the Bitcoin core app so you may be able to just do the same to knots after you install it so it just points to the same directory.
Interested to see if that works and persists through app upgrades
Why not physically replace the internal drive with the external drive?
hmmm, so you're saying just install umbrelos on the external ssd? interesting idea!
No, open both, remove internal ssd and replace with external drive's ssd so you have a 2tb internal drive.
I don't think this can be mounted internally: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0DG6WRD8L
One of the images shows the inside of it. Looks like a normal ssd.
if you feel comfortable with the linux command line, you should be able to move the app directory to your second hard drive (make sure it automounts) and then symlink the umbrel app dir on your primary hard drive to the app directory on the second drive. Works for me.
Now be prepared for when you upgrade because it will not respect that and you will need to do it again. It would be much easier if they just let you configure manually which directory to install things to
