I guess I’m not the average person. That book is a masterpiece, and not boring in the slightest. I’ve read it four times I think. Several of my friends have read it and become orange pilled.
That said, I haven’t had my wife read it because I know she would be bored by it. I recognize that a book that’s perfect for me as an engineer is not perfect for her.
To be an early adopter you need conviction. The difficulty is that to have conviction that bitcoin will succeed, you have you have a certain degree of technical understanding of the problem and how bitcoin solves it. Most people just use the heuristic of deferring to the wisdom of the crowd, so if you are too bored by a technical work such as the bitcoin standard maybe you’re doomed to be a late adopter.
