Nearly 3k a year, just to reside on property in the US. More than 1 piece of real estate is a terrible investment. (This is only one, my house is on 2 lots technically.)

What about rental properties? Is that a good argument to have more than one property?

No. Why would you store value in something that constantly leaks energy when you can just buy Bitcoin instead.
