Nearly 3k a year, just to reside on property in the US. More than 1 piece of real estate is a terrible investment. (This is only one, my house is on 2 lots technically.)

In Canada it's almost more worth it not to own your home.

Renters have all the rights so being a good and consistent renter is worth it versus the extra loss of money to taxes.

Think of the Bitcoin you could buy!

one aint allowed to bake the taxes into your rent payment in Canada? what do you mean by extra loss

Property taxes

Maintenance

Fuel for lawnmowers etc.

Insurance (homeowners is much more expensive than renters)

Unexpected costs

Roof

Renovations

I'm probably missing stuff. There are costs to owning that aren't always passed on to a renter.

You could factor all this in and still not account for the time it takes you to account for app this crap. Fuck being a landlord.

Agreed.

I didn't account for a bad renter either which can net you a $10k+ easy.

Bitcoin won't destroy your apartment on you.

most people get into too without knowing how impossible liquidating an investment property is. oh in the US too, all that depreciation youve been reporting for years gets added back in to your cost basis, so your gonna get rekd if you are ever able to successfully get out of the trade.

What about rental properties? Is that a good argument to have more than one property?

No. Why would you store value in something that constantly leaks energy when you can just buy Bitcoin instead.

Land of the free. Home of the brave

In places like California that bill is easily $20k per year.

I have an HOA as well. ☹️

Now let's talk insurance and maintenance!

learning bitcoin I understood how property is a spectrum and that it is inverse-proportional to the possibility that someone stole it from you. Your body, your mind, your bitcoin, in that order, is the stack of the sovrein individual and they are the things you can own the most and governate on.
