Well, I wouldn’t assume you’d do it. But unfortunately I know too many beginners who do it because they’ve been told „go p2p, for privacy“ with no additional info.

And several so called „privacy advocates“ even discourage Lightning obfuscation, recommending only p2p even with wire and already reversible mixers.

Which is why this is a loaded topic for me.

doesnt a "wire" take like 5 to 7 business days anyway? I wouldnt know, thats more of an American and European thing.

Yea never done a “wire” in my life

There is instant SEPA in Europe. It’s one of the few real-time fiat options. PayPal, Revolut and stuff is all also full KYC, with the slight advantage that for the latter two only the state can get your identity, while SEPA (wire) everybody with a little skill can get your name, address and birthdate

Good to know

In Canada we have Interac E-Trasfer through email.

perfect for small amounts, the only thing revealed to the receiver is the email address and full name to the seller through Bisq.

Half of them are Chinese and Finish names.

I'll take my chances on Bisq p2p with email money trasnfer and then mix and match and ride the lightning right after my boating accident.

Good luck finding my UTXOs

I used to work at customer service desk of a supermarket and I used to process Western Union money orders. It was ridiculously expensive back then and I’m sure it hasn’t gotten any better. Those people need bitcoin.
